I absolutely just LOVE this time of year.
Christmas lights are in full swing everywhere! Something about shiny little lights all over trees and houses makes things feel warmer and a lot happier. don't say you don't agree, cause i know you do.
Another reason? I got to go to the First Presidency Christmas Devotional (thanks to Nicole Erin for that gift) If you missed this fantastic event, read about it here. I always love this devotional the first Sunday in December. It really helps me get in the mood and spirit of the Christmas season! It's such a friendly reminder to remember the reason for the season. Just like President Monson said, "“Christmas is what we make of it. Despite all the distractions, we can see to it that Christ is at the center of our celebration. If we have not already done so, we can establish Christmas traditions for ourselves and for our families which will help us capture and keep the spirit of Christ.” I hope we can all remember Christ in our daily lives, and during this special time of year. I'm so glad I was able to attend this special occasion and was able to go with a great friend, Mr. Carter Zufelt. Don't be confused by this mustache and mistake him for my Dad... I have no say in what he does with his facial hair, although it was very entertaining to watch people as we passed them slowly look down at that thing and start laughing. Very entertaining.
The weather was a little bit on the chilly side, so we took a quick walk around after the Devotional, enjoyed looking at all the pretty lights, and headed out. If you live in Utah and haven't gone to Temple Square yet, DO IT. It's so magical.
Speaking of magical, if you have yet to visit my house this Christmas season, put it on your to-do list. It's nothing extravagant, but it is so festive and happy. The roommates and I got together one Saturday morning, and started operation Christmas. And let me say, I am pleased with the turn out.
Here's a little tour of the upstairs room:
Having a fireplace is so perfect for those cute stockings to be hung on. It's probably my favorite section of the room.
Oh and this little piece too. We wrapped those ugly bookshelves into big Christmas gifts. And those ornaments are too cute.
K fine, everything about this room is my favorite. We love our Christmas lights. The more the merrier, right? It's definitely a happy room to be in.
And that day Nicole and began watching one of my all time favorites- Home Alone 1. And don't worry, we've already watched Elf and Home Alone 2 as well. Nothing like being in a room full of happiness, watching some Christmas classics.
What can I say? I am obsessed with the Christmas.
Happy Christmas Light Season! :)
